“Walking with Indigenous Poetry” explores learning on/with the land, climate justice, and Indigenous language revitalization (and their intersections) through a guided poetry walk. During this walk, which I am currently designing and is tentatively scheduled for April/May 2025, I will take participants on an embodied walking practice guided by Indigenous women’s poetry. An adaptable poetry walk script accompanied by a reflection on the guided walk will appear in the edited collection Walking the Talk, co-edited by Drs. Sheena Wilson and Rachel Epp Buller.
Past Projects
For the podcast series “Lire en relation” of the 10th annual Salon du Livre des Premieres Nations, I recorded a podcast episode (in French) to explore how Indigenous literatures are related across languages (in particular across French and English). Guided by poems by Joséphine Bacon (Innu) and Heid Erdrich (Turtle Mountain Ojibwe), I discuss how we can read poems across languages in relation to one another. Listen to the episode here.
Il était là is an autofictional short-story based on my visit to the 2016 Kahnawake powwow. The story (in French) appeared in the short story collection Les points à construire (Editions Des Livres et Des Réfugiés, 2019).
